In this estimating method, measurements are made as early on in the project as possible to build experience figures. Once it is known what percentage of the work was done in how much time, it can be established (on approximation) how much time is required for the remainder of the work. This method is used a lot in practice to estimate test activities within a test level. It is also very suitable to estimate test activities in incremental development methods.
